Room 124's INVENTION CONVENTION...Friday, Feb. 28, 2014

Every student in Mrs. Smith's class participated in our INVENTION CONVENTION this week.  The classroom buzzed with excitement as the children brought their creations to share with the class.  Here is what the students had to say about their unique inventions:

1. I invented the Catnipper.  The Catnipper keeps my cat Nosey, active.  It makes Nosey happy.  I used felt in the shape of a fish and then added catnip to the inside.  It hangs from a string.

2. I created the Yarn Utility Tool.  It is so hard to roll a ball of yarn from scratch.  With this tool, it will make life a lot easier.  All you have to do is start from one notch and go to the other one.  Keep doing that until you have a ball of yarn.  You might need more than one if you are doing more colors of yarn.

3. I invented the D.S.R.    Doggy Smell Repellant.  My invention helps people to not smell a wet dog, if they have a dog.

4. I created the Automatic Garbage Can.  My garbage can is my imagination, but anything is possible.  The Automatic Garbage Can was my brother's idea.  He said that there are automatic sinks, toilets, and towel dispensers and so why not a garbage can.  I made it.

5. I invented the Nook Necklace.  The Nook Necklace is a Nook for Babies, but on a necklace.  I made it because my baby brother spits his suckey out and then cries.  I made this for him!  I love him, that's why I made it.

6. I invented a Quick Way to Get Condiments on the Go-inator.  My invention has ramps inside it and there's condiments on the ramps and doors.  You open one door labeled salt, and salt packets come out.  It spins around on a trivet.  It's useful because you don't have to wait to get your condiments anymore.

7. I created the Solar Truck Bed Warmer.  I invented this because in the winter the truck fills up with snow that is hard to remove.  With my invention, the sun powers the solar panels, which heat up the bed, which melts the snow!

8. I invented the Lego Dinner Alarm.  The Lego Dinner Alarm is a special tool to get  people to come for the three meals of the day.

9.  I invented Waterproof Matches.  You can take them camping.  Even if they get wet they will still light because of the special way they are made.

10. I invented the Bug Catcher.  My invention is something grandpa, auntie and I made.  I am happy that I thought of my invention.  My invention sticks to bugs.  The Bug Catcher is covered with Duck Tape.  The bug catcher doesn't zap it, it sticks.

11. I invented the Box Kaddy.  You know where you have to put something in a kaddy?  I made a box Kaddy.  It is a kaddy but bigger.  I made this because people need more room for pencils, markers, crayons, scissors, spoons, forks, knives, and colored pencils, and more.  So if you want to make one, it's easy.

12. My invention is the Subplane.  The Subplane is half sub, half plane.  It can help you survive when you are flying and the fuel is down.  If you fall in the water, the plane turns into a sub.  It's awesome!

13.  There are no more burns because I invented the Safety Stir.  It is safe for kids.  There is no more mess.  It is easy to use.  Step 1: After boiling water is placed in a cup, add coffee, tea, hot cocoa, or whatever else you want to drink.  Step 2: Place the special protective container over the cup, and stir without splashing.  Now enjoy!

14. I invented the Safety Kitty Collar.  This invention is made for a kitty.  It is very stretchy, so it doesn't choke the kitty.  It also has a bell so you can hear the kitty coming.  My kitty at home, named buck, wears this at home when he wants.  That is my invention and I like it!

15. I invented the Flying Car of Legos.  With this, in a traffic jam it is easy to get out.  This can also melt snow SUPER EASY!

16. I invented a Robot.  My robot can write with his pen arms and fly in the air. I think Robots are the best.

17.  I was going to invent a Submarine that goes on land and water, but instead I invented Waterproof Matches.  You can take these anyplace in the rain, or drop them in a lake and they still light up.  Good smelling wax makes them stay dry.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR BUDDING INVENTORS!  THEY HAD A VERY EXCITING TIME LEARNING ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE'S CREATIONS, TOO  A SPECIAL THANKS GOES OUT TO ALL FAMILIES WHO ENCOURAGED/HELPED THEIR 3RD GRADER.   AN AWESOME TIME WAS HAD BY ALL.

COMING SOON....A CLASS PHOTO WITH THE INVENTIONS!
